CycloXome™ are actives entrapped inside cyclodextrins. The active is strongly bound inside the cavity of the cylinder-shaped cyclodextrin, protected from oxidation and depletion.
Because its outer surface is positively charged, cyclodextrin fixates strongly on the skin surface, negatively charged. But also because it is charged, cyclodextrin cannot cross the skin barrier.

The ability of CycloXome™ to reduce irritancy was demonstrated in a patch test with glycolic acid.
