CycloXome™ is active molecule entrapped inside cyclodextrin. The active is strongly bound inside the cavity of the cylinder-shaped cyclodextrin, protected from oxidation and depletion.
Because its outer surface is positively charged, cyclodextrin fixates strongly on the skin surface, negatively charged. But also because it is positively charged, cyclodextrin cannot cross the skin barrier. Therefore, CycloXome™ fixes on the skin but doesn’t penetrate it.
While on the skin, CycloXome™ releases slowly the active, maintaining a balance between the concentration of the intact CycloXome™ , the free active and the empty CycloXome™. |
